Do I suck as a deviantART-er, or what?

My last journal update was months ago; my last submission even longer. My only excuse is that I really haven't done anything in the way of writing lately. I've definitely gravitated away from photoshop. Will I go back? Depends on how bored I get in the summer.

First off, the stats: I have 2,819 deviations and 1,456 messages. That's scary. Now, the pathetic truth is that I probably won't get to all of them, so I apologize profusely if something is skipped over.

Second, the dues: ~Wicked-Truth I am so sorry that I haven't finished the Seascape/Wicky story yet; it's not for lack of trying, I promise. I'm trying to get it finished, but not rush it so much that it turns out crappy. Just know that I haven't forgotten. And I even have an extra surprise to throw in as an apology.

Now, to the thing that kickstarted this journal: I'm working on a new story. It started out as a little inconsequential project; I saw everyone doing this interesting HARPG, and though 'well, instead of drawing, maybe I could write'. Honestly, I just thought it was a part of my horse phase (yes, most of this horse stuff is a pahse. Not a shallow one, mind you, but a phase nonetheless. I've only ridden twice in my life, and neither time was spectacular. I don't plan to work with or own horses later on in life. I just view them with the same majestic awe that I view almost every animal) I wanted to test myself as a writer, thinking that writing from an animal's perspective, while not revolutionary, would be a fun challenge. I soon learned I'm better with people.

Anywhosits, what started out as a little, meaningless project actually gained quite a bit of depth in my mind. The story is of a stable and the twin sisters who run it, and while that sounds a bit trivial, there's so much else to it that I couldn't possibly explain, mostly because I haven't even sorted it out myself. But the story is growing and developing, and I'm beginning to love it. The main characters and stables have ties to Slavic mythology; the love interests have ties to Celtic, Norse, and Greek myths. And yes, its beginning to look like the entire story will focus a lot on mythology, and I love that.

I'm still in the planning stage, so I haven't even started writing, but I'm so excited. I just hope this isn't one of those projects that's more fun to plan than to execute.

I just had an itch to tell someone. Who better than the few people still reading my journal?

Much love,

Silver Koi

Wow! I haven't heard from you in forever! :faint: How have you been?
Oh, a story? Those are always fun creating storylines for characters. Good luck with it!
